I love the scriptures! And I love to share them!! Please join us & bring a prayer. Review:We saw how Christ visited another people after he was resurrected & organized 12 apostles to minister and be judges. 3+ generations pass away in righteousness, then trouble starts as they enter river that represented the depths of hell (v16). The mists of darkness are the temptations that blind the eyes & harden the hearts of men (v17). The large & spacious building=the vain imaginations & the pride of the children of men & a great gulf that was created by what! The word of God-v18. It reminds me how the teaching of the world today has attitudes that lead us to self indulgence & lack of respect for self & others, feeding those appetites that take us away from the living scriptures & we condemn ourselves to what I would call "poverty of spirit" which takes away hope and promise and joy and ultimately life and all that is held dear. The muddy river was defined as the depths of hell. A river pulls you along, there is no control & you are at the mercy of the temptations & appetites or peer pressure that you have given way to in your life. Have you ever thought about hell being a state of attitude, a state of mind? The kind that locks you into a way of life that separates you not only from self but from all of mankind. "Blinding eyes & hardens the hearts of men" & "leadeth them away into broad road". It reminds me of "going with the flow" which I think is very dangerous. In D&C we saw how the wicked would contrive to destroy the testimony of the family of Nephi and in Moses it is confirmed that God made all things for man. WE EACH CHOOSE. I have chosen the scriptures, though it is a less used path I have faith that it is the right one & will lead me to God's love. The scriptures create the chasm that separates us from the wicked & the judgment or separation from God that comes with it. I am so grateful that you are here. With love & faith in Christ, Christa-Ann
