For example, my father was in the Counter Intelligence Corps in WWII and later played violin professionally, and finally, worked in the aerospace industry as an engineer. I was raised in a multi-lingual environment in which Ukrainian was the main language in our household. While many of my relatives spoke Ukrianian, my father or mother were familiar with languages, English, German, Polish, Russian, Spanish would be spoken in our household.
