Bio: A chemist by education, Coty spent 11 years as a scientist working in and directing biomedical research. He worked to design and develop biomedical devices, including an implantable glucose sensor, and co-authored many articles that can be found in publications such as Diabetes Technology and Therapeutics and Analytical Chemistry. Turning his focus from the body to the soul, he’s spent over 10 years studying relationships to help people better connect so they feel valued, heard, and appreciated.

A few years ago, his wife's grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. And even though Coty thought he had a good grasp on relationships, he soon learned there was a whole other world where relationships take on an entirely new meaning. He had to begin thinking outside box and digging deeper to try to go outside of what was the normal advice for building better relationships into a world that doesn't have the same kind of rules and certainly doesn't abide by what would be considered 'standard.'

The entry into the this world of Alzheimer's and care-giving was completely unexpected and provides daily challenges. But he and his wife's desire to ensure that his grandmother in law stays as happy and as peaceful as possible, while maintaining her integrity, is first and foremost on their minds.
