Detroit a portrate of a dying city being resucitated for gentrification.

In the 1950's, Detroit was considered the Paris of the west in regards to architecture. Entrepreneurs had an immense amount of wealth giving Detroit unique and magnificent building structures.

What is happening presently to Detroit is precisely what is happening to America. Jobs are disappearing, and the middle class is being systematically destroyed. Less than half of the residents of Detroit over the age of 16 are working at this point. 2010, the city had a population of 713,777, more than a 60 percent drop from a peak population of over 1.8 million at the 1950 census.

What it will be is called “Trickle-Down Urbanism,” or the process of displacing and relocating residents from urban neighborhoods that have been targeted for new investment and resources.

Can and is this happening in your town?
