I was just thinking...Detroit the Motor City is dying!

Pundits and news people have said; “As Detroit goes, so goes the nation.”

Detroit, the Motor City, the home of Motown and the Temptations, the hub of automobile manufacturing and a destination in the great migration of blacks from the South in search of the American Dream.

Detroit, a once thriving city is now the poster child for a bankrupt ghost town-and it begs the question: Is that what’s in store for all American cities? 

Along with Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and the Bay Area of San Francisco we found jobs, bought homes and raised families—places now crime-ridden, dilapidated and abandoned--easy picking for the “new gentrification and urban farming” movements.

Will we become the new gypsies, migrants and homeless? The largest amount of black wealth was lost in the last recession and financial meltdown can we stand another blow? Now that Grandmama's house is gone and Mama is staying with auntie Lois, we begin to realize a generation of security has been flushed down the drain.
