HELPS ORPHANS OF HAITI (Fundraising Event to Benefit Orphans in Jacmel, Haiti) HOSTED BY: Herve Clermont, Wolgang Puck Catering and Ultimat Vodka WHAT: A fundraising event to benefit the orphans at The Clermont Center for Homeless Children, which was heavily damaged in the recent earthquake that decimated most of the inner city of Jacmel. The J A Clermont Memorial Foundation (www.clermontfoundation.org) is a charitable, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established in memory of Dr. Jacques Clermont, whose life ended tragically in a car accident in Maryland in 1995. It was Dr. Clermont’s lifelong dream to return to his hometown of Jacmel, Haiti, and help his people there. In 2003, his family realized that dream and opened the Clermont Center, a house that provides shelter, regular meals, enrollment in school and basic skills such as carpentry and subsistence farming to 22 boys ages 5 to 18. Most important, The Clermont Center has given the boys a new family under the guidance of a loving staff. WHEN: Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 7pm to 11pm WHERE: The Annex at Hollywood & Highlands (5th floor), 6801 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA
