Margo Rey laid her professional foundation with over a decade of training under the exclusive tutelage of classical voice professor Dr. Luther Stripling. At 16, Rey fronted an all female rock band Debutante (The Debs,) and also sang in a 3 piece power pop band called the Ritual before beginning a career in jazz, & becoming the band leader for the Latin/Jazz R&B Sextet Miss Margo and the Lost Souls. Actor Edward James Olmos recommended her for a principal role in the bound for Broadway musical Selena Forever, which led to a number of theatre credits including Saturday Night Fever, Latin Heat, Like Jazz, Senor Discretion Himself, Zorro and CantaLunga. During this time period she began crafting and touring her own original music that she calls “Organica.”

In the midst of battling breast cancer, Margo hasn’t stopped pursuing her music.

In her latest album Habit, Margo put together a variety of organic sounds with every bit of emotion put into each song. The Indie Music Digest says, “Her musical/vocal style is cut from the cloth of Celine Dion, Bonnie Raitt and Shania Twain.” Listeners closest to it claim that Habit is its own brand of sonic luxury and Rey emerges as a force of nature — in heels no less!
