Introducing: The Brown Girl Collective Talk Show

Brown Girl Collective celebrates BOLD, Brilliant and Beautiful women and girls of African descent by paying homage to our past, while preparing for our future. On this, our first show, BGC Founder and Creator Marcie L. Thomas will share bits and pieces of the Brown Girl Collective vision. 

Special guests will include: Dr. Tyffani Monford Dent, Psy.D., a Cleveland, Ohio-based psychologist and author of Girls Got Issues: A Woman's Guide to Self-Discovery and Healing. Dr. Dent, president of Monford- Dent Consulting and Psychological Services, LLC, is an expert in a variety of issues that impact African American women, men and children, to include physical and sexual abuse, bullying prevention and mental health. Vanessa Garrison, Founder and Director of GirlTrek (www.GirlTrek.org) will also stop by to talk about the 2014 Harriet Tubman Celebration Weekend, taking place from March 7th-10th. The 4-day event will include girlfriend get-togethers, neighborhood walks, a time for prayer and reflection and more! Beyond the weekend celebration, GirlTrek is committed to helping Black women and girls get healthy, and encourages wellness with regular fitness-centered events throughout the country.
