Tonight Adrien Guest, a purple heart veteran whose tours of Afghanistan (2/35 Cacti Battalion 3rd bde) and Iraq (1/14 Golden Dragons Strycker Infentry bde) will be joining us to relate his experiences and his progress in overcoming the TBI imparted onto him after an IED nearly packed his lunch in Afghanistan.

Traumatic brain injuries, once totally ignored by the DoD in an effort to facilitate retention numbers, as well, their life shattering impacts are now signatures of IED encounters. Chronic homelessness has now been entered onto the list of TBI symptoms in medical circles beyond the VA. In the past, military members who were subjected to even severe TBI were routinely kept in service and all too often as the post injury changes progressed were put out with less than honorable discharge. Medical incident report records were routinely wiped out in these past cases and standard operating procedures at the VA today for those past cases it is believed still include procedures which in all too many cases have resulted in fraudulent diagnosis and catastrophic consequences for many  patients. Also it should be noted that 7 out 10 veteran suicides are of those over the age of 50. This puts their time in service squarely in line with the era in which TBI was routinely ignored.

Willie Kimbell, Bridging The Gap of Georgia's very first and very successful client will be joining us as well to detail the road he has traveled to a life beyond the military, as well as the resources availed upon him by BTG which continue to be instrumental in his ongoing and totally upward trajectory.
