Separate Thyself

In Genesis 14, Abram and Lot have decided to separate.  The separation was ordained by God and spoken to Abram by God in Genesis 12.  Abram immediately chose to part from his home with Lot.  Separation has its place in the cycle of patience because separation is a circumstance that causes discomfort, pain and stress, but subdues our own will as opposed to God's will.  God will have his way no matter what!  God ordains obedience as part of the fulfillment of His promises.  Obedience was brought about by a circumstance by God so that the cycle of patience could be completed.  Praise God for separation which causes obedience!
