In John 8:1-11, Jesus has intervened on behalf of the woman, allegedly caught in the act of adultery. Jesus is determined to gain the victory. Jesus, as her intercessor, has attempted to appeal to the reasoning of the scribes and Pharisees as it concerned the actual legal language of the Mosiac Law. Jesus stooped on the ground in a position of humility but with a determination to reveal the sins of the scribes and Pharisees. Lastly, Jesus attempted to appeal to the conscience of the crowd of scribes and Pharisees with the ultimate result of gaining the woman's freedom.
