In 1 Samuel Chapter 22, the priests of Nob that unknowingly assisted David when he went before Ahimelech, were sensely murdered.  Also the inhabitants of the town of Nob were murdered without notice as Saul accused them all of conspiring with David.  A person escaped the murderous rampage, Abiahtar, and survived to provide yet more protection for David, the prophesied King of Israel.
