There is a Greater In The Lesser

Joseph takes hold of Jacob's hand to move it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head.  Joseph is attempting to reverse the self-perceived wrong of his father Israel (Jacob) in pronouncing the blessing on the younger son when the blessing should be pronounced on the oldest son, Manasseh.   Jacob proceeds to pronounce blessings on Ephraim ahead of Manasseh according to the divine will of God.  The blessings of God will sometimes favor the lesser over the greater.  There will be an apparent reverse in the order of nature in order to bless the people of God.
