A Chicago lawyer name Clarence Darrow went to the hills Tennessee to represent John Scopes in a case known as "Scopes Monkey Trial" On the William Jennings Bryan fundamentalists or present day Tea Party Movement. The Tea Party was represented in the form of U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp of Chattanooga and state Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey of Blountville. The middle of the road republican Mayor Haslam was the winner.
