Idealistic and hopeful that she could muster the courage to take over Rachel Mast’s class for a short time, Rebecca Kinsinger never thought that this task or the one hour she would be with these students just might be the turning point of her life. Given the chance to take over a class at Charm Amish School, she cannot believe how difficult the task is and the way the students decided to act out instead of showing her the respect she deserved. This worked for a while until their teacher returned and the tide was changed and so was their behavior. But, although Rebecca seemed to think she failed at her job for the short time she should have realized that for the most part only one student continued to defy her when she finally took control. Before leaving the school Lilly Yoder and her Uncle Jacob come into the classroom for the first time. Lilly is apprehensive, not glad to be there and just thinks its only school. Having lost her parents and forced to leave her home she is resentful, unhappy and does not always follow her Uncle’s rules.Learn more when you join me for my interview with the author.
