The October 21st show features Firefighter and Chief Jim O’Neill and Firefighter Kimberly Canarecci. These two individuals volunteered to answer the FEMA call for volunteer firefighters to come to the area and lend their expertise to the disaster mitigation. They both gave up months and months of their lives to help their fellow citizens as any firefighter is pledged to do. Their stories reflect their perseverance and their dedication to their profession. They were away from their families and friends but continued to do their duty to serve the good people of the Gulf Coast as best as they could. Both Kimberly and Chief O’Neill have their stories reported in the book…we encourage all to check out the show and hear first hand what they endured and emerged from in their time as volunteer firefighters for FEMA during the months after Katrina. This show focuses on the stories of heroism from the rescuers and survivors of America's greatest castrophy--Hurricane Katrina. Five years later, the survivors are still working to put their lives back together throughout America's Gulf Coast. This show will focus on the heroes from this period as well as the victims of the hurricane who lost everything but found the inner strength to start their lives over. Each week, different guests will tell their stories which have been compiled in the recently released book by Cary Black, Katrina, A Freight Train Screamin'. Cary Black and Bonnie Kaye will co-host the show. If you would like to order Cary’s book, click into the link below. http://www.redowlpublications.com/KatrinaBook.html
