We all know why firefighters exist in our cities but we might not all know the importance of their jobs. Firefighters primarily extinguish fires that threaten civilian populations and property and to rescue people from danger. These hard workers used to only be men and were referred to as firemen, however, now many women fight the fires that threaten our cities so the team was changed from firemen to firefighters.
To become a firefighter a college degree is not required however some do go to college and earn an associate or a bachelor degree in fire science. In these classes the soon to be firefighters will learn things such as how to control a fire with equipment or how to inform their communities on how to prevent fires. A college degree is not required to become a firefighter because most skills are learned on the job or in training. There are several different types of firefighters found around the world including the following; career firefighters, volunteer firefighters and retained firefighters. Firefighters also on average work a fifty-six hour week with eight to twenty-four hour shift. Firefighters serve in an important spot in our communities and are vital to the safety of our families and friends.
Please support our firefighters who daily place their lives on the line. I am dedicating this show to support our firefighters across the UNITED STATES! I will welcome call ins for those who have family members who are firefighters to share stories of courage and heroism. Please feel free to also call in for prayer as you feel led. There are so many times what these precious ones do for our country so sleflessly, we need to honor and support them. Tune in Saturday evening to show your support, and offer any stories that will also inspire and encourage all of us to send prayers and loving support to these precious ones..

Please feel free to tune in, share, and call into our admins for some input on what you do in the firehouse to keep you and your crew healthy. Help us pre-plan ourselves, and WORK HARD to keep us safe and healthy.

Have you ever wondered what vampires, truant officers, firefighters, the sexual behavior of active retirees, genealogy and lie detection have in common?
Well today's fifth episode of Boomer's Plus Radio brings all of those topics together into an exciting 60-minute program designed for you--the active retiree.
Shannon Bell speaks with co-hosts Lois Podoshen and Mark Newhouse and reveals the rationale for her blood-thirsty predilection.

The national pastime, at least for most baby boomers, is not necessarily baseball. It's acquiring or retaining a relationship that doctors say will keep them healthy and happy as the years go by. And if that relationship should include sex--well, so much the better. Pat Jocelyn starts a continuing series that you definitely won't want to miss.
Our genealogy guru, Bev Hulett, and former FBI lie detector expert, William Warner, round out this exciting fifth edition of Boomers Plus Radio. So sit back and tell your friends and family that this program and others are archived at http://www.BoomersPlusRadio.com
