7:30 PM -

Haley Ellerbe is 18 years old a senior at Caldwell Parish High School. She has been riding since she was 10 years old. Her first horse was an 8 year old grade mare.

Haley learned to ride and basic horseman ship skills on her. Haley began to attend the Columbia play days and competed in all events. She won all around cowgirl her second year of riding and also won the cowboy extreme challenge when she was 12 years old.

Then it was time to upgrade and my mom bought me my first true barrel horse a 6 year old bay mare when I was 13. Her name was Fancy. I junior high rodeo for one year and decided I like jackpot barrel runs and local rodeos better.

Fancy was good at her job but I had out grown her and my mom bought me my true love. A flea bit grey gelding name Flash like Jack aka Speckles. He and I have won the teenage youth and open barrel division for the last 3 years in the Northeast Louisiana Rodeo Association.

I have 16 belt buckles and my biggest check from chasing cans is $890 for a 16 second run.

Speckles usually runs in the 1d or 2d division at jackpot barrel runs. He has his own unique way of chasing cans. He slides in on his back end and digs out with his front end. Believe me if you aren't holding the saddle horn when he turns you will go right off his back end. I love this horse. He gives his all whether he is sore from a long weekend of running or from being out of shape. This horse will never have another home. He is spoiled and loves to eat French Fries, and butter cookies.

8:30 PM - Join us as we discuss The Drug War, Mass Incarceration and Race. How it continues to destroy communities across the Country.
