IS better to 'forgive and forget?  Does Excusing bad deeds makes it easier to erase painful memories?

Some thoughts shared:

1.    I neither forgive or forget. Giving people a second chance is like giving them another bullet to shoot you with because they missed the first time.

2.    Since time immemorial people have been encouraged to forgive and forget in order to live a happy life...... It is easy to forgive, but very difficult to forget. When you hear someone suffered the same fate as you, your mind begins to recall your experience. There are many other things that are hard to forgive e.g. your husband/wife sleeping with your best friend without your knowledge, losing a family member due to violence caused by someone you know and many more. If someone has stolen one dollar from you and you eventually find out, you may forgive them, but you will never trust them.

My question this Thursday will be "Can we truly Forgive and Forget?"
