Faceted Gems with Diane Murray Ward Guest Marie Delus

Host Diane Murray Ward presents her monthly half-hour program with guests who have developed 2nd and 3rd career venues. Her show enlightens and encourages everyone to develop skills and talents that might otherwise remain hidden if not nutured to fruition. 

This programs guest is Marie Delus, a Deputy ACCO in NYC government for 18 years. She is also the President of T "Flip" R, LLC, an entity that brings together Hip Hop and Pop Artists with a mission to perform and provide voluntary services (in the name of non-violence), to their communities nationwide. Ms.Delus is also an active volunteer (e.g. American Red Cross) and United States Marine Corp Veteran of Desert Storm.  Marie traveled to Haiti recently on five occasions to help in the Haiti Relief. In the past, she helped set up “make shift” clinics (provided food and medical services) at several locations wherein she assisted approximately 2,700 clients. In March 2011, Maria traveled to Haiti with a group called the Haitian American Visionaries Association [HAVA]. The group assessed Haiti's current condition, designated an impoverish community in Anse A Veau, and plan to help the community survive by creating conditions to strengthen their economic, educational and social development.

Her upcoming projects consist of organizing two fundraisers: One for Haiti was held July 2011 and the other fundraiser will be held August 2011 for the Safe Horizon Brooklyn Center to help clients affected by domestic violence.
