Concussions are among the most difficult to manage injuries in sport today. Sport-related concussions are becoming a growing concern among athletes and medical professionals alike, as they are amongst the most common of injuries.

  • The NHL alone averages about 75 concussions per year, and junior hockey concussion rates are believed to be much higher
  • Concussions account for 15% of all sport related injuries in high school athletes
  • NFL had over 200 reported concussions this season

There are companies coming to the forefront each with significant and continuing research have the devices to measure a possible occurrence of a concussive incident. One hit that renders a concussive incident on one athlete may not be enough to knock the noggin on another. Are these devices providing a false sense of security in the sports world?

Listen in to an encore presentation of the great debate of concussion technology versus the views from the medical community Wednesday February 6 @ 7PM EST with guests Jim Blumson and Dr. Michael Bergeron at BEYONDtheCheers on blogtalkradio.
