Women in Sportscasting

Why is it harder to maintain and achieve credibility as a Sports Broadcasteror Sports Journalist when you are a woman? Sports television has traditionally been a domain for mostly male sports figures,  broadcasters, and viewers, but this has  changed in the last few decades.

According to Jack Brickhouse‘Former voice of the Chicago Cubs and ASA Hall of Famer, "Women have another dimension that men cannot give. They can give a female's insight into women athletes in swimming, golf, basketball, tennis, etc.

Radio Show Host and Sports Commentator Lisa Belkov-Snyderis the host of the popular sports radio show, "LIVE with Lisa!" where she talks about the lighter side of sports from a woman's point of view. This pioneering platform of "bringing women over to the lighter side of sports and men over to the lighter side of women," is Lisa's broadcasting motto.
