March 3, 1991. The day I realized that as I thought being Black didn't matter, as much as I thought I was equal to any other person in this country, I discovered much to my dismay (and Rodney King's) I was not. That manwas treated worse than an animal in a third world country. And the police, who were supposed to serve and protect, hogtied, beat and tazed this man. AND IT WAS ALL CAPTURED ON FILM. It made me realized WHO I was in this country and what it meant to be an "African in America." Join me and friends as they recount the incident, it's fallout and how it continues to affect us to this very day. Pyrrhic victory is not ALWAYS a victory. Let's keep it real, realists. It's 2030, where are your sons, brothers and fathers?
