Stress levels are at an all-time high. Drug and alcohol addiction levels evidence that harsh impact that economic woes have made on individuals and their families.  One result that often remains unremarked on is the number of divorces attributable to substance abuse and addiction.  What is a family to do?

My guest is William Perkins, a Substance Abuse Treatment Professional and Substance Abuse Program Developer, with over 15 years of experience in the treatment and prevention of drug abuse.

He is the Executive Director of a new program which opened in May, 2010 called TARP, Inc., or Training Addiction and Recovery Professionals, located on Madison Avenue in mid-town Manhattan.

Mr. Perkins is certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), as well as the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), to provide the 350-hour certificate program needed in preparation to become a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).

He is also the Clinical Director of a successful multi-service, state licensed chemical dependence program in Harlem.
