A couple of familiar voices join us on today's edition of BangTheBook Radio, as we look to specialize in one college sports conference and then chat a little bit of NBA. Host Adam Burke will start things off with Alex Nicolas of Miner Rush, the SB Nation home of the UTEP Miners. There are a lot of things to discuss regarding Conference USA as we look ahead to the bowl season and dig into the college basketball season. We'll look at those bowl games featuring UAB, Middle Tennessee State, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, North Texas, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Southern Miss, and Louisiana Tech. The guys will also take an introductory look at the college basketball side of things in the conference.

Our next guest will be Philip Rossman-Reich from Orlando Magic Daily, who also has bylines at national sites like The Step Back and Talking10, a Big Ten website. The guys will take a look around the NBA to talk about the home/road splits around the league with several teams under the spotlight. They'll also try to isolate some underachievers and overachievers by using the stats and some advanced metrics to determine teams to buy low and those to sell high.
