Today marks the beginning of the 2014-15 college basketball season and I'll give my thoughts on what should happen over the next five or so months. Who should make the Final Four in April? Which teams enter the year as dark-horses? Gonzaga looks like it could have its best and deepest team ever - can they finally break through and make a run at a national championship? Can Richard Pitino's Minnesota squad pull off the upset in tonight's featured game against his father, Rick's, Louisville team?
Tonight I'll be joined with a guest who has made appearances on both "The Basketball Truth" and "Titan Talk", Ben Holzhueter. We'll talk a little about Kobe Bryant and both conferences in the NBA. Who are the favorites? Are San Antonio and Oklahoma City still the teams to beat in the West? Can Cleveland make the Finals in year one of their new 'Big Three'?
We'll also dive into the Coaches Poll that came out last week for college basketball, going over teams ranked No. 11-25.
Adam Burke is joined by BangTheBook.com College Basketball Expert Kyle Hunter to talk about the week ahead in college hoops. The two will talk about trends and things to look for in this week's "Inside Edge" and cover six of the week's most interesting matchups.
The 2014 college basketball season is FINALLY upon us. Bryan and Steve will comb over their Power 5 conference teams to watch, as well as the "Next 6" conference teams that are in the preseason polls and have a shot a making a run to the Final Four in March.
This show also features the debut of Beyond The Arc's Power Program Index, which takes a look at the success of the top programs in the country over the past 5 seasons and narrows down the list of teams that could win the 2015 NCAA National Championship based on their preseason rankings.
The Opening Tip is another spirited discussion on some winners and losers from the NBA's 2nd week of the season including the Toronto Raptors, Anthony Davis, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, and NBA Players Association executive director Michele Roberts.

We're joined again by Troy Mathieu to continue discussing the BCS vs a playoff system, superconferences, Big East, realignment, big money in college sports, NCAA hypocrisy and paying athletes. Mathieu is the former executive director of the Sugar Bowl and also ex-director of athletics at Grambling. He is currently assistant superintendent in charge of athletics at Grand Prairie (TX) independent school district and formerly head of athletics at Dallas public schools and Washington, DC public schools.
