Birth Mother Matters in Adoption Episode 60: Adoption Agencies Are A Safe Place

Being homeless can be incredibly difficult and being homeless and pregnant is even more difficult.  Adoption is an option you and your baby. Financial instability is one of the number one reasons women choose adoption over parenting. Finding yourself pregnant and sleeping in a shelter, at a park, or under a bridge can be overwhelming.  You may be experiencing of feelings, such as:

  • Disappointed that you are not in a different place in your life in order to provide for yourself and your baby
  • Scared of what will happen to you and your baby.
  • Concerned about how you will be able to eat healthy food
  • Sad that your life is not what you dreamed it would be
  • Worried about how to attend prenatal doctor appointments
  • Staying warm and clothed during your pregnancy
  • Stressed out about what people think about you being pregnant and homeless

These feelings and concerns are normal and common. Being homeless can feel lonely, but we can help. If you are pregnant and considering giving a baby up for adoption in Arizona, please understand that there are options. Adoption does not cost you as the birth mother anything. If you are homeless, we can help you with housing, food, clothing, a cell phone, transportation, and so much more. We have an after-care program designed to assist women who have privately placed a baby for adoption with resources and continued assistance.

Many of our clients were homeless when they came into our adoption program. Their adoption choice was the beginning of a new life for both them and their baby. If you are pregnant and considering giving a baby up for adoption in Arizona, we are a licensed, full-service, non-profit Arizona adoption agency. You can contact us 24/7 at (623) 695-4112.
