Many Americans of African descent have lost touch with indigenous African Spiritual traditions and worship. One major example is revering the egun, or ancestors. Tune in on this special Mother’s Day show, as Iya Demi, AKA Rosa Grillo, shares how to acknowledge and honor our Ancestors and integrate them into our everyday life. We also will open the phone lines for callers to share a message with their moms, whether their mom is still on this side of the veil or on the other side.

Iya Demi is a priest of Yemaya, ordained 10 years in the Lucumi/Santeria tradition. Many guides in her life have instructed her in ways of “seeing” – spiritually, metaphysically, Christian, ethnically. She praises the ancestors who continue to guide her as a medium and spiritual healer. She is a trained communicator, facilitator, program manager, and mother (iya). Her current project is to record her AfroCuban heritage as a study of migration and assimilation into the US cultural/racial landscape. For more information, check her out here,
