Skid Row Chatter with host Tom Pitts welcomes Max Allan Collins.  If you're unfamiliar with Max's name, chances are you're already familiar with his extensive body of work. Not only is he the man behind Road to Perdition series and dozens of other crime fiction works, he's covered it all. From novels to novelizations, he's written for TV (Dark Angel), comics (Batman, Captain America, and more), and even comic strips (Dick Tracy). He was the only man allowed by Mickey Spillane to step in to Spillane's shoes. In a time when most writers try to find their own patch of sun, Collins has truly found the talent and spirit to to it all. We'll talk about his latest in his award-winning Nathan Heller series Better Dead.  MAX ALLAN COLLINS was hailed in 2004 by Publisher's Weekly as “a new breed of writer.” A frequent Mystery Writers of America “Edgar” nominee in both fiction and non-fiction categories, he has earned an unprecedented eighteen Private Eye Writers of America “Shamus” nominations, winning for his Nathan Heller novels, True Detective (1983) and Stolen Away (1991), receiving the PWA life achievement award, the Eye, in 2007. http://www.maxallancollins.com/blog/
