Roland attended the University of Maryland and the University of North Carolina, to achieve his Doctorate in Business Administration. He has affiliations with numerous organizations and clubs, including the VOA Amateur Radio Club and the VFW. He is the former President of Cape Fear Amateur Radio, and has about 20 years of experience in the U.S. Army. Dr. Huber was even recognized with the bronze for his service in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.
