Ms. Conant was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended the Milton Academy, where she studied under Elizabeth Saltonstall, and continued her education at the Boston School of the Museum of Fine Arts, majoring in Graphic Fine Arts. Ms. Conant also studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy for an additional two years, and from 1975-2001, she developed a broader perspective of vitality and space, painting at her “second home” in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. She was asked to create four large water color paintings for Jamaica’s Rose Hall Wyndham Hotel. Ms. Conant is a regular exhibitor at The Lyme Art Association, where she also serves on the Board of Directors and A.P.E.C Committee. Jan has also illustrated several books, including her own pieces of literature, “Half Pint”, and “Children of Light”.
