We welcome Margaret Leslie, MS, LMT, HTCP/I, HTSM-CP/I, CCA. While working as a School Psychologist in Knoxville, TN, Margaret became interested in the effects of touch with severely handicapped and autistic children. She spent several years leading Developmental Play Therapy groups of adult/child pairs with amazing results. Her training in this area in the mid “70’s” made her very aware of the energy exchanges during touch.

When introduced to Healing Touch in 1993 and completing her first class in 1994, she knew she had ‘come home’ to her Soul’s work and that she would one day teach this work! After 25 years, she retired from the school system and completed massage school and headed toward certification as a HT practitioner and then instructor. During this time she had met Linda Smith, had classes with her and even attended the Level 4 class where Linda was training with Janet Mentgen. After some years, Margaret invited Linda to East TN to teach the HTSM program. Attending these classes felt like ‘coming home’ to a deeper level. During this time Margaret was involved with taking HT to India three times, finishing her instructor’s training and certification in HT and introducing the work into 12-Step Retreat programs.

While taking classes in the CCA (aromatherapy) program, Linda invited her to become an instructor in the HTSM program—which she did. As teaching and spreading this work was her passion, she continued learning until she was teaching all 7 classes in the basic and advanced HTSM programs. In 2011, Linda asked Margaret to become Director of the HTSM Program for ISHA. Her goal has been to expand the programs’ exposure. As Linda’s desire has been to move into other directions of creativity, Margaret has taken on more of a leadership role and recently the entire ISHA program.
