Taylor Locke & the Roughs is formed by four friends from LA. These four friends started playing together years ago as a side projects to their various bands etc. Taylor told in an interview that side projects are a very healthy outlet. They casually started writing songs and playing together without having an actual destination for the songs in mind. That combined with not having any pressure from managers, labels, lawyers etc insures that they have a lot of fun and it makes them feel good. The band consists of Taylor Locke from Rooney, Chris Price from Price.

After having played together a couple of years, Taylor felt like the last batch of lyrics told a story, albeit a story that felt very personal to Taylor, and he felt like he had a handle on how to sing the songs. From there he asked Chris to help co-produce their first album – now known as “Grain and Grape”.

The band has a lot of influences like Beatles, Badfinger, a little Elvis Costello and Zeppelin. Taylor says that fans of “60’s British invasion” and 70’s pop rock will get a lot of pleasure connecting the dots on “Grain and Grape”

The band aren’t trying to please anyone but themselves, but in early 2010 they promised that if “Grain an Grape” was well received we might get another album from Taylor Locke & the Roughs within 2010. The time has come - their second album “Marathon” was released on iTunes in early October 2010
