"Salvation cannot come without revelation; it is in vain for anyone to minister without it. No man is a minister of Jesus Christ without being a Prophet. No man can be a minister of Jesus Christ except he has the testimony of Jesus; and this is the spirit of prophecy. Whenever salvation has been administered, it has been by testimony. Men of the present time testify of heaven and hell, and have never seen either; and I will say that no man knows these things without this. " (Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p.160). The tesitmony of Jesus spoken of is received by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost cannot contradict itself, for the Holy Ghost is the spirit of truth. The Holy Ghost is thus the same, yesterday, today and forever. Because the truth, by definition, does not change. Therefore the Presidents of the Mormon Church, having spoken contrary to the law and the testimony (see Isaiah 8:20), must be declared to be false, because those who have the testimony of Jesus, which is the spirit of prophecy, will not speak contrary to the covenants, the law, or former testimony. The statement on LDS.org on race and the priesthood does this. What law and testimony have they therefore violated?  "What the Gentiles are doing we are consenting to do. What we are trying to do today is to make the Negro equal with us in all our privileges. My voice shall be against it all the day long. I shall not consent for one moment. I will call them a counsel. I say I will not consent for one moment for you to lay a plan to bring a curse upon this people. It shall not be while I am here." ("B.Y. Addresses).
