John Bevere - How to Make Your Life Matter Today... and FOREVER!

    in Art

One day you will stand before God and give an account of your life. The most important question you can ask yourself now is, will you be ready?
Most Christians know their response to the cross determines where they will spend eternity. But did you know that how you’ll spend eternity is determined by what you do in this life?
God wants you to discover your calling—He’s not trying to keep you in the dark. In fact, He longs for you to find the meaning and purpose that comes with knowing why you’ve been placed on this earth.
In Driven by Eternity, best-selling author John Bevere uses an eye-opening allegory and extensive Scripture to unveil how our daily choices shape our eternal existence.
Life beyond the final breath is much more than a destination. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Discover your God-given destiny and make your life count both today and forever.

This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. in Art

Sparks fly when different disciplines collide. Visual artists respond to poets and spoken word artists create works based on paintings.
Join us as we discuss the intersection of visual art and poetry. Poets will join us with their works and how they find inspiration in visual art. Ekphrasis: Using Art to Inspire Poetry is a tradition that goes far back in time....The earliest and best known example of ekphrasis is the long description of the shield made by Hephaistos and given to Achilles by his mother Thetis. (The passage is found in Book 18 of the Iliad.)
Our artist/poets witll share their work here tonight. Woo Hoo!

Art Cry Radio is a show dedicated to finding and featuring Art andd creativity in all forms.
Don'dré, a native and resident of Chicago, IL was immersed in music even before his formal, academic education. At 5 years old he began elementary school, piano lessons, and choral training concurrently. At adolescence, he formal training focused strictly on vocal while he began his creative pursuits through instruments. As high school began, Don'dré expanded those pursuits to songwriting, production, and eventually recording. He went on to study music at Alabama A&M University where he developed his skills as a performer, director, house engineer, bassist and organist. He graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Music Business and returned to Chicago to pursue his career.

In so doing, he has elevated his craft of creating music to its apex. "My motivation is to create music out of emotions so that its more than just a tune, but an inspiration. A theme to life. A call to action." His mission now is to reach others with his the messages in his original, soulful compositions, and encourage the masses to be true to the essence of who they are.

An Artist Speaks Season 7 Episode 2 with Guest Artist Lydia Pepin

    in Art

Lydia Pépin is a Canadian oil painter and portraitist. She has exhibited at galleries and events across Ontario, and has paintings in private collections across the world.  Her oil painting depicts views of the everyday life, with a focus on natural light, warm colours and strong composition.
Pépin’s portrait paintings demonstrate her gift at capturing both visual appearance and the unique personality of her subjects, bringing them to life on canvas. Her painting process is personal and engaged; she prefers to meet her subjects in person and lets their personalities inform her painting.  Her portraits include the painting of Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson, on permanent display at City Hall, as well as members of the military, such as Brigadier-General Jennie Carignan
