Elephants in Our Rooms ~ 11/19/20 ~ Hosts Janet Kira Lessin, Debra DeFranco, Guests Steve Bhaerman & Barrie Gellis

Steve Bhaerman is an internationally known author, humorist, and workshop leader. For over 33 years, he has written and performed as Swami Beyondananda, the “Cosmic Comic.” Swami’s comedy has been described both as “comedy disguised as wisdom” and “wisdom disguised as comedy.” Marianne Williamson has called him “The Mark Twain of our generation.”

As the Swami, Steve is the author of Driving Your Own Karma (1989), When You See a Sacred Cow, Milk It For All It’s Worth (1993), Duck Soup for the Soul (1999) and Swami for Precedent: A 7-Step Plan to Heal the Body Politic and Cure Electile Dysfunction (2004).

In his “past life” (before Swami), Steve started an alternative high school in Washington, D.C. and co-authored a book about his experiences, No Particular Place to Go: Making of a Free High School. A political science major, he later taught history to autoworkers at Wayne State University in Detroit as part of the Weekend College.

Barrie Gellis has given many live and online presentations and interviews on Seth, UFOs, and The Secret, as well as other spiritual and metaphysical topics. He is a former member of Jane Roberts’ ESP class in Elmira (one of the New York Boys), and was referred to as “our poet” by Seth in 1972. In her book about Seth class, “Conversations With Seth,” Sue Watkins includes some of Barrie’s poetry as well. He has written more than 4,000 poems and has published a volume of poetry called “Outside Is a Secret Key,” available at bargell@aol.com--for a signed, paperback; or as an eBook on Amazon. It is a collection of 100 poems that relate to experiencing inner and outer life. More poetry books are to follow.
