Jim Temple, Sr., a  Union Soldier during the Civil War  came down south to go to battle. After the war was over he settled in Tangipahoa Parish, the first home he built was a log cabin home in Amite, La. He purchased over 50 acres of land and farmed it.

Jim was married twice, his first wife Margaret Amacker and to their union eight children were born: Charlie, Jim, John, Amelia and Mary are the only names that were found in the genealogical research of Jim.

Jim's second wife Othell Butler lived with him until he died. Jim and Othell had three children: Walter, Robert and Eskmo. After Jim died, his wife Othell donated two acres to start the family cemetery called Temple Cemetery in Amite, LA

Please join host Antoinette Harrell and Edwin Temple one of Jim's--offsprings as they discuss the history of the Temple Family.
