In 1903, an inspection reported that children at the school were commonly kept in leg irons according to " Florida closing 111 year old reform school, United Press International, May 27, 2011, retrieved July 17, 2011." The one room white building with blood stains on the walls, beds and sheets, were used to beat black and white boys at Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys.
