He left the Agency in May of 2008 as head of CIA’s WMD terrorism unit. He now runs his own security consulting business, Orion Strategic Services, LLC, in Davidsonville, Maryland. He is also the author of several books, including Beyond Repair, a critical examination of the state of the CIA, and Willful Neglect, a review of homeland security. His latest book, Codename Aphrodite, is a novel based on his own experiences abroad as a counterterrorist operative.
