Angelica Harris welcomes Jessica Johnson to the show today. Jessica, Jeans 4 Justice founder and Executive Director, began her philanthropic journey at a very young age. She actively sought opportunities to use her time and talent to give back to the local community during her four years at James Madison University. Her passion for giving back intensified after moving cross country where she started Consciously Social, a boutique cause-marketing firm dedicated to elevating the level of charitable giving within San Diego’s young and young at heart population. In 2005 she began a close relationship with the San Diego Center for Community Solutions sitting on their public relations committee and producing one of their most profitable annual events for domestic violence awareness month. This relationship was instrumental in the birth of Jeans 4 Justice, and it quickly became her favorite and most successful project. After producing various campaigns and working with dozens of local and national charities, Johnson set aside her entrepreneurial endeavors. She embraced the non-profit world and began a successful two year career with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, as a fundraiser and program director. Deep inside she found her life’s purpose to heal, motivate, educate and inspire through Jeans 4 Justice, and left the Foundation to pursue her passion full-time in 2009. “I have been touched deeply by the many survivors in my life, and the fire inside of me to pursue this mission and truly make an impact grows every day.” Website: http://jeans4justice.org/
