Pain is Uniquely Personal
Pain is Uniquely personal because the person experiencing or carrying it can only express or explain to the best of their knowledge what hurts. It is our job to be compassionate enough to take time to listen, learn, and possibly help. We can't understand their pain without first gaining insight into what they are feeling. When you discredit or dismiss someone's pain you are telling them what they feel doesn't matter or that you simply don't care. Think before you dismiss one's pain for you have no clue as to the level of hurt they are experiencing.
