Shallow Passion: How Suffering Positions Us for Divine Purpose

Acts 1: 3 says, “To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs” (KJV).  Interestingly enough, the word translated passion in Acts 1: 3 actually means suffering.  That is to say, Jesus was passionate about completing his God-given assignment, but he knew that its fulfillment would not come without suffering.
