Doug Harris is a native of Berkeley, California, and a former college basketball All American from Central Washington University. After his collegiate career, Harris enjoyed a professional career where he played in the Philippines, Argentina, Spain, Greece and Italy.
Doug earned his master of arts degree from California State University Monterey Bay in 1998, and was named one of the CSU system's "Outstanding African American Alumnus" from 1960-2010. He currently serves as the executive director of Athletes United for Peace, a national nonprofit organization and United Nations NGO committed to promoting peace, education and friendship through sports and media programs.
Harris is also an award winning Bay Area documentary filmmaker who produced a series of popular sports documentaries BOUNCE: The Don Barksdale Story, Basketball in the Barrioand OUT: The Glenn Burke Story.
