It's 2018, let's streamline the discussion!  Our listeners know the drill....Welcome to the latest episode of Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review (MWIR) airing every Wednesday at 7pm eastern.  Listen to your hosts, Daryll B., Capt. Kirk and  Dburt utilize their metaphysical stethoscopes to analyze the following issues:  after giving a soul stirring speach at this year's Golden Globe Awards, iconic actress/mogul/media personality, Oprah Winfrey has many in the media theorizing that she may have 2020 presidential aspirations; and speaking of our current POTUS, we give our impressions of author, Michael Wolff's controversial best seller, Fire and Fury: Inside The Trump White House and its assertions that Donald Trump is mentally unstable (really? we didn't notice..lol) ; the sexual assualt train appears to be continuing and picking up even more high profile male passengers-this time it's Marvel Comics legend and elder statesman, Stan Lee (sigh....let's try to get the facts right on THIS one); and in more racially tinged news, social media are questioning clothing company, H & M's recent ad choice which depicts a Black child model wearing a "Coolest Monkey in the jungle" hoodie (I guess they're banning POC from ad dept. decision making huh?); a NY Times piece highlights the CW Network's upcoming superhero series, Black Lightning and how the show will tackle issues of race and justice directly and lastly,  Essence Magazine becomes a Black owned publication again!  Call the show LIVE at 646-915-9620.
