Let's continue the positive vibe through out 2016, people!  Pull up a seat and a cool refreshing drink while you listen to the latest episode of The Mid Week in Review, thanks to the Afronerd Radio machine.

Join Dburt and Capt. Kirk this Wednesday at 7:30pm EST as they tackle the most current issues bubbling up above the surface during the (mid) week: Okayplayer.com Managing Editor, writer and pop culture critic, Kevin L. Clark stops by to discuss current music trends as we hopefully posit whether African-American music quality has declined; noted psychiatrist, scholar and author of The ISIS Papers, Dr. Frances Cress Welsing passes; and as if ironically inspired by Dr. Welsing, a reverse doll test involving two White children goes viral on the cyberwebs; new cars from Ghana's auto manufacturing plant roll out into the global marketplace for the first time.

Militia groups challenge the US government by occupying a federal building over a dispute about grazing rights (and issues of racial double standards arise) ; philosopher (in his own mind), actor and male scion of Will Smith, Jaden, causes a stir by wearing a dress for a Louis Vitton Womens fashion ad (Dr. Welsing appears to be ever prescient). And lastly, Philadelphia, P.A. now bears the distinction of having the first Black female comic shop owner, Ariell R. Johnson of Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse.  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.

I believe there's something inherently dangerous when something real becomes mythic. Because when faced with a myth we can't win. So the mythic must be exposed for what it is.  So we can believe in ourselves. Because it's only what's in us...the drive to be mythic..that matters.-Lex Luthor
