Shawn Anderson is hoping to inspire others to go the extra-mile in their own lives. Pedaling a bike solo across America and stopping at pre-organized events in 21 cities along the route, Shawn will be reminding people that success knocks at our door much more quickly when we persevere through tough times... and go the extra mile. Shawn Anderson, is embarking on a solo bike tour to shine the light on organizations and individuals who are exhibiting exemplary contributions to their society. The Extra Mile America Tour begins July 21 in San Francisco and ends in Boston the first week of October. Shawn, the self-billed “Battery Charger of the Human Spirit” and three-time author, will begin the tour by serving breakfast to the homeless the morning of July 21 at Glide Memorial in Downtown San Francisco. He will spend the remainder of the day interviewing and meeting with San Francisco’s “extra mile heroes” at tour sponsor Joie de Vivre’s Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the tour he will attend pre-arranged meetings with key organizations, individuals and elected leaders in each community he visits along the way. Through asking the question, “What are you doing to go the extra mile?” Shawn hopes to remind people that our quality of life is determined by our effort. Many community leaders are endorsing Shawn’s efforts like San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom who says, “One man riding his bike across the country -- helping to shine a light on local heroes and organizations such as Project Homeless Connect --inspires us all to go the extra mile, help someone and acknowledge those who are tirelessly working in the trenches.” http://www.extramileamerica.com/
