Time goes by swiftly. It's already past the halfway mark for the month of May. And that's why Caribbean Global Voices wants to make sure that you enjoy every moment of it and so we celebrate. As you know the Month of May gives us lots to celebrate and even if there is nothing to celebrate, we celebrate life because it is precious because all our fans are precious.Even as we celebrate we are mindful of those who suffer the devastation of oppression, war, crime and other social ills. So we take time out for a conversation. So Let's talk.
Sad, truly sad. Yesterday another Black mother had to bury a son shot and killed by police. 23 year old Roger Fortson, a U.S. Air Man was shot and killed in his home by a police officer. The official report is that an officer came to Fortson's home to investigate a reported disturbance occurring in the home. His family members report that the police went to the wrong home since there was no disturbance at Fortson's home because he was home alone facetimimg with his girlfriend. Fortson came to the door with his gun pointing downwards, the officer shot him and then told him to drop the gun. How can this wanton killing of Black men can be stopped? Or Can it be stopped? What is the true cause of it? Come on in. Join the conversation. Give us your opinions and suggestions or tell us what you would want to talk about. We're alwayis happy to hear from you.
