Drinking plenty of water is one of the best things we can do for our overall health. In addition to the 8, 10, even 12 glasses a day, intake at strategic times of the day, proves helpful.  For instance, a glass or two after waking helps activate internal organs. Other suggestions include drinking:

a glass 30 minutes before a meal to help digestion;
a glass right before taking a bath helps lower blood pressure;
a glass before going to bed helps avoid a stroke or heart attack; and
a glass or two in the event of a charlie horse helps relieve its cramps.
