Brenda, APR has 17 years’ experience as a communications professional and is accredited through the Canadian Public Relations Society. After starting out as a newspaper reporter, Brenda then switched careers into public relations 13 years ago. In addition to being proficient at corporate communications, writing, editing, community relations, and marketing communications, Brenda has successfully managed public relations for organizations facing crises, including protests, broad public criticism, and the deaths of employees and iconic animals. Brenda excels at media relations, having won honors for her work at the Vancouver Aquarium, and was an early scholar of websites and social media as communication platforms. Brenda believes everyone has a story to tell, and she tells these stories in a way that engages targeted audiences, particularly the media.
