The Voice of Joy Online - A Special Prayer for  Guiding patience

Understanding why guiding patience leads to promises kept. 

Dear Lord: I ask that you hear this special prayer that is being said to guide and help those who have allowed others to force them to act against your will and lose patience with themselves. I ask you, Lord, our God, to heal that heart that has given so much and received so little back.
My prayer is that help us to less like the examples of Moses losing patience with those you desired him to help. Oh Lord their complaining, and lack of faith and righteous cause him such pain he disregarded how to bring the water forth for their needs. Please, Lord, help those to gain strength and not lose patience with your guidance. For you know, best.

During these years of wandering in the wilderness, Moses' patience was continually tested by the people's murmurings, grumblings, and complaints. At one point, Moses' patience reached its breaking point, and he sinned against the Lord in anger against the people. When the people again grumbled against Moses, saying they had no water, the Lord told Moses to speak to the rock and water would flow forth. Instead, Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod. Apparently, because he disobeyed the Lord in this act, Moses was not permitted to enter the Promised Land (Num. 20:1-13). That privilege would belong to his successor, Joshua.
